The first thing that you have to do is you
have to understand the concept of putting
a lesson into action. And creative drama can
work for any subject, for Math, for English,
for Spelling, for any kind of subject, any
kind of social skills. Anything you can imagine;
you want to take your lesson, and you want
to put it into action. And what I mean by
that is let me use an example. If we were
teaching Math, and we were teaching two plus
two equals four, four plus one equals five
and I'm writing all of this up on the board,
that is not putting the activity into action.
The better way to do it; the creative drama
way to do it is putting it into action. Line
the students up, have them create a number
line; zero to ten, zero to twenty, whatever
it is. They line up, and they they're they
become the number line. Give another kid a
steering wheel, call out Math problems; two
plus two equals four, and that kid gets to
drive to four. So all of a sudden, the math
skills that we were writing on the board are
put into action, and that is what creative
drama is.
